The gorgeous Bio-Oz buckwheat flour purchased from Sovereign Foods.

We've just completed our second series of food skills workshops, with Winter Comfort Foods this past Saturday. It was a lovely day - making lots of satisfying foods - featuring a fair amount of cream and butter and oil : ), and a bunch of other food groups for balance ; ). We were kept warm and cozy, and very full at the end of it all!!

The next series of classes is launching soon. In the meantime, we're publishing all of the recent workshop recipes on our website. So if you missed a class you wanted to go to, or live too far away to join in person, you can still try the recipes at home.

Drumroll please... and the recipes are:

Cheesemaking: Farmer's Cheese/Paneer, Rennet Cheese - Haloumi & Ricotta

Make your own Flatbreads: Sourdough Starter, Sourdough Flatbread, Naan, Buckwheat Crepes, Grainfree Wraps

Winter Comfort Foods: Seasoned/BBQ Style Roast Chicken, Potato Gratin/Bake, Caramelised Onion Soup, Apple-Nut Crumble, Quick Chicken Stock

If you have any questions or comments about the above recipes, please feel to get in touch.

While we are waiting for the next batch of classes to be released, we have one repeat of our popular Cheesemaking Workshop scheduled for Wednesday July 2nd from 10am-2pm. You can book in here - https://www.almaplate.com/workshops/.

Winter solstice has passed (here in the Southern Hemisphere), so now the days are officially getting longer. Let's make the most of warming foods while we can. Spring will be here before we know it..

Enjoy!
